I love decorating with objects from nature, recycled items and just doing it myself and saving a lot of money into the bargain. Using what we have instead of throwing it away, which is causing problems for our environment, being creative and  thinking outside of the square, you can come up with some amazing ideas. I've put together   ideas that look great but won't cost a lot. One of the most economical ways to decorate is with found items. If you like me live close to the beach there is always driftwood to be found, here are a few of my favourites

Christmas Australian coastal style

Hi there all, well only 20 days left until Christmas day, where does time go? I have been busy looking

at table decorations and recipe ideas to share with you. In my little corner of the world on the Gold Coast, Queensland it is getting very warm and looks to be a hot Christmas so cold food and drinks are the  favoured christmas fare. Locally caught seafood is very popular in my family, plenty of prawns, oysters, crab and fish are what we love! This is ordered before christmas so that you don't miss out and picked up the day before. I thought I'd start with some table decor to put all the yummy food on, what will your decorating style be?

                      Decor ideas for small balconies

Hi there again, I was taking a walk yesterday and checking out the many different balconies and how they have been decorated, some good and a few really dismal looking ones, there are a lot of them anyway, and my mind starting coming up with different ideas. Many people  are downsizing because they lead busy lives and don't want to spend their leisure time maintaining their home.Here on the Gold Coast many live in units that are central to everything, beaches, cafes and restaurants, and sporting facilities. Unit balconies come in different sizes from tiny upwards and sometimes it is a challenge to decorate these small spaces, so decided to share a few designs and decor styles with you.

Hi there everyone, I am in the process of moving to the coast, which has always been my happy place, and wanted to share my thoughts and life with other coastal lovers. I am a mother and grandmother, retired and looking forward to decorating my new space. I love vintage finds from all over the world, 2nd hand shop hunting ( what we call it here in Australia), natural elements and anything unusual! I would call it eclectic vintage coastal style. The colours of the sand and sea are my favourites, but I also love little pops of colour. I love reading, cooking simple foods with lots of herbs and spices, all nature, spending time with family and friends and of course my little dog Mindy and my big cat Cruz!
